Go to: 

Setup/Configure Mail Reader

Global

Printer Configuration

and set it for: 

 Default printer port        LPT3


Then see if XP has a way to intercept that output and convert it 
to USB printer output. 

I used to do something similar to redirect LPT2 output to LPT1, 
so I could emulate a laser printer on a bubble-jet printer.
