TT> Ummm..if you want "bone rattling bass", you'd better getcherself a
TT> pair of VZ-5ks and drive four Basstech 7's with 'em.
Yup! The '7 is a great speaker, no doubt about that; strap 'em
together, and they sound like one HUGE horn. I love them.
TT> On a dismal note for the EX4000, recently our company sublet racks and
TT> stacks to a Chattanooga provider and got the shit kicked out of our
TT> EX4000/4842 bottom end by their MT2400's driving Community VBS-415s.
The 415's are most impressive, true. Personally, I think that they
are one of the most dynamic and musical sounding boxes on the market.
I did a gig up in Maine with 8 of them a side in a big field, and was
instantly hooked, but they *do* need a ton of power
TT> Ah, well. Live 'n learn, eh? And buy nothing but Crown for your
TT> bottom end.
The Crown certainly has the rails, and with the output of those beasts
it is hard to beat 'em for low end drive. Rugged too. There are
better sounding amps out there, but not at those power levels.
TT> Do you get H.T.I.C.S.' used equipment list? I got mine today, and
TT> it was hilarious to see that Bill had described a MT10k as a "room
TT> air conditioner with binding posts"...
A good description. You could heat a small house with one of those
things running full out, too. Take care.
... It's tourist season? Where do I get a license?
