Agreed. And they may still set some more... who knows...

I can agree with that.... Hayes is excellent quality, they have been at
it a long time. I chose to buy USR mainly because they have comparable
quality and the place I bought it at was selling them for a price that
suited my budget ! :-)

IBM ? Yuch.... can't say I like anything they build.... but I work at
Digital so maybe I'm a bit biased... ;-) Seriously though I never liked
tham as I found them to be too proprietory... with all that old
microchannel stuff and so on.... when a card or drive blew on an IBM it had
to be replaced with an IBM part as they were built different and would not
work on any other machine.... for example their older 3 1/2 diskette drive
had a ribbon cable that supplied both data and power ! Try hooking any old
3 1/2 from a pc in there and you'll see it just wont work. I'll say this
for IBM though.... they _really_ do build with logevity and quality in
mind... my dad has an old XT (don't ask me why) and it has an IBM
monochrome monitor .... they system still works and that monitor is -10-
years old !!! No lie, its just unbelievable that anything electronic
these days could last that long !
