The file 'vars_linux.mk' will be used for various platform-dependant
rules and build options.
Please insure that it makes sense for your platform. If it does not,
fix it, and submit your changes back to the Maximus development team.
If you have any installation-specific changes to make, you can edit
the file 'vars_local.mk'.
Creating vars.mk; using PREFIX=/var/max
Maximus was written by Scott Dudley (Lanius Corporation),
Peter Fitzsimmions, and David Nugent, and released in 2002
under the GPL (GNU Public Licence). The UNIX port is by
Wes Garland. Type "make gpl" to view the text of the
licence.
Paths: (edit vars.mk to change)
prefix /var/max
libraries /var/max/lib
binaries /var/max/bin
Targets:
build build maximus, squish and SqaFix
config_install install configuration files
install build and install everything
squish build squish
squish_install build and install squish
sqafix build SqaFix
sqafix_install build and install SqaFix
max build maximus
max_install build and install maximus
Testing your build environment..
Testing your version of GNU make: /usr/bin/gmake
- Looks fine to me! (version 3.79.1)
Testing your C compiler..
- Looks fine to me!
Determining platform endianness..
- Chose LITTLE_ENDIAN
Testing size of stamp_combo..
- Looks fine to me!
Configuration complete.
Post-Install, it would be wise to make a bbs user and
group, and change directory ownerships appropriately.
'chmod -R bbs:bbs /var/max' should work nicely.

BJ> What is the environment you are using? [Red Hat version ?]
Mandrake v9.0 (also have v9.1).
BJ> If this is a ./configure script issue, I may need to bug Wes Garland

Doesnt look like a fault in configure, well its not producing an error see
above.
I could try and compile under Mandrake v9.1 as I have kept that one upto date
with fixes. What do you suggest?
