Hello Bat !
BL> Really! What model(s), where, when, etc.
BL> I am also an ex-F-86 pilot.
No model that you would recognize, Bat. We called them Mk. I
flew the Mk 2, 5, 6, and 6b. They were all made in Montreal, at
Canadair now making the Chalenger and others. We also had a Canadian
engine of great power for the time. 8200 lbs of push, compare this
to the J-47 and you will see a difference in performance. We could
fly formation at 50,000'. The 6b had the 6"-3" leading edge and the
slats back on top of this. It was a dream to fly. I got 555 hours in
them before I resigned my commission to join Air Canada. I retired
in 92 off the B767. Would not do anything different !
Not very much on topic here but the Moderator is kind.
