Congratulations - you're just in the process of finding what BBSes do best. :)

There are a few C/C++ related conferences - find a good OLR (off-line
reader) and go for it.

You need a 32-bit compiler. Borland 4.0, Watcom or any of the OS/2
compilers should be able to do that for you.
