  >well, we won't make a red cent with aLIVE!, though we will manage to give
  >away a powerful extension to the BASIC language for a song to those 100

JK>When we announced aLIVE! v1.0, we were hoping someone out there would

JK>Nada.
I'm sure I'm going to get shot at from all directions on this one.
Aren't the programmers who are familiar with object orientated
programming using C++ to design Windows apps. Micro$oft has been very
efficient in convincing programmers trying to make money, to move to
Windows. I'm not a fan of Windows. This is just an observation of the
lack of response you're getting.
Also how are you trying to market the product. The fewer people that
know about your product, the lower the interest. This echo carries
significantly less traffic than the QuickBasic echo, hence fewer
potential customers. Echos seem to attract people (like me) looking
for free info. Not a big spender market. Has the programming market
ever been a significantly profitable market ?
Certainly you could find a niche (maybe even a profitable one) but
don't count on it. Pb is obviously a superior product to Qb (despite
the ide). Which echo is attracting the most traffic ? A neat idea or
product is no guarantee of success. Marketing seems to be the key.
Mabye I missed your explanation of what Alive! is. Giving a detailed
yet easily understood description could generate enough interest that
people will ask you for more technical info (potential customers).
  Just some thoughts.
