Why don't you state some *specific* laws that you do approve of; then
tell us how the government should enforce those laws; and how they
should pay for that enforcement.

Frankly, many laws *and* customs were here before you *or* I *or* anyone
else on this board was born. And I am glad of that. I would not want
to constantly have to "re-invent the wheel", as the saying goes. But if
you really want to obey only laws you personally have voted on, we will
need to eliminate the government, including the constitution, and start
all over again. That would mean, of course, existing for a while,
without any laws or government at all, which is anarchy. As a matter of
fact, if we are to be fair to everyone, and have everyone only obey
those laws they have personally voted on, we would have to hold a new
election on *all* the laws every few days, or weeks, in order to meet
the needs of the newbies to have a voice in things. That would probably
severely limit the number of laws in the land; and would effectively
eliminate government, and would, thereby, create anarchy. Is this
really what you want? If not, then how would you create a system
whereby everyone only needs to obey the laws they personally have voted
on *without* endangering the on-going function of government itself? If
you do not believe this constant voting on laws would eliminate
government, then explain, in detail, the make-up of a governmental
system that could survive this need to have people obey only laws they
have voted on.
And, while we are on it, explain to me, in detail, how the Indian
nations will be able to survive as nations, without having their current
land and economic base stolen from them, during this constant process of
re-creating the government and the laws every few days. This is very
important, since the treaties are part of the current system of things
that none of us here have voted on, and would instantly be eliminated
with all the other "laws". Explain how your new order of things will
make life more equitable for the Mohawk nation, for the Cherokee nation,
and for the tribes in Washington and Oregon states.
