You seem to be just a little behind on your information it seems. Supra has
stated both here, through thier voice support lines and in the info available
on the web site that only the V34 supras with the newest data pump can be
upgraded to 33.6 with a ROM upgrade. The modems will take the new flash ROM
but physically can't handle the increased throughput.

Supra has been clear with the information and it is readily available from a
number of sources. I know that we tend to get impatient when we have to wait
over a week for a reply to e'mail, but the support folks at Supra have 8 hour
a day jobs and can't necessarily get to every e'mail as promptly as you would
your personal correspondence.
You will have to upgrade your modem to the new data pump to get the 33.6
capability. That is what I did.
