Gawd........!! I used to repair R-390's in the Navy back in 1963.
Clunkerville City, those beasts were. I just "loved" lugging the damn things
from one end of the ship to another. Repairing 'em wasn't a lot of fun
either.
Electromechanical nightmares......... good receivers, though. :-(
I really liked the R-1051 that replaced the R-390....all solid-state and a
lot lighter in weight. Required a lot less maintenance, too.
