1) run a terminal program
2) type +++ and hit return
3) type AT&V and hit return
  if that doesn't identify the brand and model, then
3) type ATIx (with x being 0 to 7) and hit return.
One of the ATIx (probably ATI3 or ATI4) will give info on brand and model.
