Gordon L. (I think it was.) suggested an interesting thing. Like Dan said,
you must be in a Windowed DOS session, where you will see the "X"
at the top right of your program's window. What happens if you  on the top boarder anywhere to the left of the "_"
(Minimize) button?

I too use a Semware editor, called "Q". What you describe at the
top of your screen, tells me you are running BW, and consequently TSE-Jr.
in full screen. Try the  key combination while it's open
to toggle between a windowed process, or not. Once you get to the windowed
session, you should see the muck we are trying to describe.
