Weird. Yeah, and a real nuisance too. The anoying thing was that Linux was supposed to be able to talk to that controller card :-( PM>> You'll have to create a separate partition for Linux. MS-DOS and OS/2 will only assign the partition a drive letter if they can recognise the file format. Since neither of them can, the Linux partition won't be assigned one and it won't affect your drive mappings. PM>> As I said, if you go to make the partition bootable, Linux will change PM>> the master boot record and Boot Manager won't get control. I don't RY> Have you tried using Linux's own 'Boot Manager' ? The only one I know of that I know of is the one that sits in the MBR. While this does allow you to boot different partitions, I didn't try doing that. From memory it assumed that you always wanted to boot a specific partition unless you held down a certain key (shift or control or something) while booting. It then gave you a choice of which partition to boot. Paul --- GoldED/2 2.42.G0214+ SD®¯3í!* Origin: It's not even a nice place to visit (3:711/934.1) SEEN-BY: 690/718 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
