I recall when I was young we had a large black cat that would spend time
outside as well as inside. The cat had a habit of coming home with part of
something that it had caught and had eaten most of. Sometimes it was a tail, or
a wing, or a head, Etc. It would eat anything it could catch. Which included 
but wasn't limited to any rodents, bats, squirrels, or birds .Sometimes we
could only guess at what the animal had actually been.

The cats around these days have their own daily timetable. One annoying habit
is that when they want to awaken they seem to think that the household should
also be required rise and shine. :-)
