Thanks. The rxtx.qbang.org link is accessible from rxtx.org. Their 
README advocates putting the jar and jnilib in /Library/Java/Extensions, 
but your command looks right, too:

java -Djava.library.path=lib -cp lib:lib/RXTXcomm.jar:dist/ags.jar 
ags.Main localhost apple2
