Don't get me wrong.  I have every bit of hope in JD and in seeing 
something come forward from this.  My concern and the concern of many 
others is an author that disappears permantently without leaving 
anything that the BBS community can work with.

This is what will ultimately kill the BBS community as we move into the 
future.  Not the lack of people willing to run systems, but the lack of 
viable software with which to do it.

The reason I mentioned Linux is that a lot of systems are moving toward 
Linux and/or FreeBSD (which is able to run Linux binaries).
