Hello There,
There is an existing cat in the household. She is a elderly female cat about 15
years old. It was decided that a second cat (Kitten) should be acquired. The
kitten is a female about 9 weeks old. It was hoped that the older cat would
welcome the new addition to that feline household. While the older cat doesn't
openly attack the kitten it does have very little patience with the kitten. And
INSISTS that the kitten respects her personal space which seems to be about 8
inches. But the kitten (Being a kitten) has a hard time doing that.
It should be noted that the older cat doesn't have any front claws. Which
limits the damage when she decides to give the kitten a slap upside the head.
It is hoped that in time the older cat gets to be friends with the kitten or at
least tolerates/ignores the kitten. But I imagine only time will tell.
The kitten also seems to have a appetite for trying to eat toes. She has
confirmed the existence of her claws and her teeth on numerous occasions. For
me it hasn't been as much an issue as I have limited feeling in my legs and
feet. The scratches show up but I just don't feel them.
