-> True, 3d guys will be much better than sprites. But Id software is
-> quoted as saying about not wanting to give their games any real
-> strategy, just blow things up. Duke Nukem 3d creates an atmosphere
-> that MAKES SENSE and has good storyline. The DOOM spacemarine didn't
-> even have a name let alone a good story, just kill stuff. They also
-> say that storyline comes after game development, howdo you possibly
-> create a good game by creating it and then making up a storythat
-> fits? No question, Id software is leading the market in game engines,
-> butthe overall gameplay lacks story and development that others (like
-> 3d realms)have added their own versions. The same goes for Quake.
-> Dark Forces II willtake the Quake engine and add good gameplay and
-> story as will Prey, making themmuch better games than Id will
-> produce. They are technically gifted but lackimagination and
-> intuition about the future of gaming!

I agree with you completely. Duke3d rocks. The only REAL
Doom/Doom II storyline was the books put out. They are not much like the
game except the level floorplans. There is no point in any of Id's 3d
games that gives the satisfaction of blowing up an enemy with a
perfictly places pipebomb.
About making sence, I think it is really nice how the levels are
leve real buildings and stuff. ALl my friends say how strange the
buildings look, but then I ask them is there is 1 Doom II level that
looks like it would actually exist... No answer.
.
There is a pretty big debate going on here from that one crabby
person with that message...
