Actually and seriously Bob here's the skinny copied and pasted from a private email I sent to someone. At least Bush and Cheney achieved their primary goal of regime change and failing to secure and stabilize Iraq after the U.S. victory there ( see PBS's "Frontline", "Iraq the Lost Year." We basically had it sewn up but disbanding the Iraq military we'd already had going along with us messed that up. See Bush - Cheney - Exxon-Mobil needed both regime change and a weak unstable government in Iraq for the following reasons. If Saddam were in charge then he's got all that nice cheap light sweet crude oil right near the surface that's 1/12th the cost to recover and sell as that oil harvested from rigs in the North sea. Well Saddam's gone. But we can't allow a secure and sovereign Iraqi state to take Hussein's place can we? That would be disasterous. But a weak and unstable Iraqi government gives us just exactly the leverage we need to negotiate oil contracts to our advantage. Either the current U.S. puppet government plays along with us and we support them with our military or it's off with their heads. Hey, it's only blood and it's not like the U.S. military is full of rich and priviledged Republicans is it? Further and also from a copy from that same email. If one informs oneself on the internet it now appears professional women in Iraq are now being kidnapped, raped and killed in large numbers where under Saddam Hussein they achieved rights unprecidented in the Muslim world. That'll teach 'em stay veiled and at home! Bush - Cheney, building a safer world for nuclear weapons, Al Qaeda and fundementalist Muslim nation building. ( Iraq, was secular now new and improved Muslim Shi'ite fundementalist like our good friends in Iran) The current U.S. selected Iraqi government does after all stand up for U.S. interests in the middle east doesn't it? Like supporting Hamas??? Between them and our good friends in Saudi Arabia who financed, largely manned and brought you 9-11 I say to you what else could you ask for in leadership? Got rid of that quaint old outdated concept of habeas corpus too. Imagine honoring a principle of freedom, justice and liberty dating from the 13th century Magna Carta, absurd. Silly liberal ideas. Got rid of that nasty space treaty forbidding the weaponization of space. "Interpreted" the Geneva convention out of existance. Same for the U.S. Constitution and rule of law. No more nasty antiballistic missle treaty. Got the N. Koreans to unseal and restart their nuclear reactors and reprocess that plutonium for weapons that commie liberal Clinton negotiated sealed under treaty. Killed the international nuclear deal. Effectively killed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation treaty. We're really on a roll now hoboy! ...
