Hi Nataly,
I do not know the exact reason for what happens, but I can only take
a stab at it. The NT machines are running NWLink and communicate
via SMB's (system Message blocks) not via true IPX/SPX which relies upon
SAP (Service Advertising Packets). Somehow, in your router setups,
something
is not quite right. Maybe they're acting as Brouters or bridges, not as
routers?
The solution would be to install not the Microsoft Client for Netware,
which comes
built into Windows NT, but rather, Novell's Client 32 for Windows NT, which
you can find eighter on Novell web site, or on Novell 4.11 server CD's, on
one of the
NT machines, and see what happens. If the problem is stopped, then the
Novell Client for
Novell, as opposed to the Microsoft Client for Novell is advertising
differently
and is sending and receiving true SAP.
Another posibility is the default frame type auto detection is incorrect,
and
you may need to setup frame types manually on your NT clients, and the
Win95 clients
are having an easier time detecting correct frame type.
Yet another possibility is that one of the machine has the same internal
network number
as one of your Novell servers, it acts as the master browser, and is
screwing up
your network. Thus, your "microsoft network" will show novell servers as
part of it.
To check on this, turn off othe Server service on all your NT clients, and
double check
they're all set to 0000000 for internal network numbers. You do not need
either Netbeui,
or the Server service on your NT clients, since only bandwidth is eaten up,
and
and you're not connecting a peer-to-peer network between your NT or 95
clients.
Hope I gave you some ideas.
Sincerely,
Alex G.
