From: Rik Hill To: Reply-To: Rik Hill Recently I had to get a finder for a telescope I was building. Astounded by some of the prices for simple 50-80mm finders I found several sources of adequate optics for the job. I thought these might be of interest to anyone else faced with the same problem. This is all new stuff, not used. a Celestron 60mm refractor for $40: http://www.heartlandamerica.com/cgi-bin/MsmGo.exe?grab_id=64550200&EXTRA_ARG=SC %3D&CFGNAME=MssFind%2Ecfg&host_id=1&page_id=168&query=telescope&hiword=TELESCOP E+TELESCOPING+TELESCOPES+TELESCOPIC+ This company, Heartland America, was selling an alt-az 4.25" reflector for $50 a week ago. Their sales come and go and bear watching. 10x50 binoculars for $20. While not great binoculars, they will give you 2 finders for less than one would cost from the telescope companies. http://www.kmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1327440&cp=945368.702345&paren tPage=family -Rik --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Email Gate (1:379/100) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/100 1 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
