Hi Janice,
1-> Such as what are you doing when it hangs?
2-> What does it do when it hangs?
3-> Your operating system DOS, Windows?
4-> Your computer? How much memory.
JP> I will check in to what you recommended. Well, the times it has hung
JP> have been with two different packets from two different boards, so it
JP> is unlikely it was just a faulty QWK but it could be my program.
Probably NOT a bad packet then....
One other Suggestion and I only recommend it if all else fails----
is to copy your qmpro.phn file to another directory (It is in the Qmpro
Directory) Then Del Qmpro and do a new install. Then copy qmpro.phn back
into your qmpro directory. Let it copy over the existing file.
JP> I don't know what version it is. Oh hold on: 1.52 for DOS.
This is the Version that had the Pkzip problem.
I would sugest you get the QMPRO153.exe upgrade patch.
besides it is nice to have the latest version.
JP> 1. I am just typing my response and I'm hung.
Ok, does it only do it when you are making replies? Or does it
do it when you are reading? Or both? Suggestion---Check to make sure your
directories are setup correctly like I suggested before.
JP> 2. It just sits there and then I reboot.
Does your Keyboard lock up (will the lights on it ligh up?)
Do you reboot by using the CTRL/ALT/DEL Method or Your reset switch?
JP> 4. 8 megs.
Plenty of Memory. What version of dos are you running? Have you tried
memmaker to get some more memory? Could you post your Autoexec.bat and
Config.sys files so I or some one could see if there may be a problem there.
Also make sure there are no TSR loaded into memory when you are running QMP
they may be causing the problem?
JP> Oh, and where would I look for those replies I did and would like to
JP> retrieve somehow.
If they are not in your upload directory, then they are probably gone.
Good Luck
Ken
... That's not a bug! It's a "Sorry, must reboot" feature!
