Hello Sharon I am writing to encourage you to send the letter.  My 
birthmother  was afraid to keep me back in 1967 but on my grandfathers death 
bed in 1986 he told my mother that he would have helped if she would have 
kept me.  Please don't wait until it's to late to do anything about it. Send 
the letter you have nothing to lose but everything to gain.  If he wants no 
contact then he will just ignore your letter.  But if he has been longing for 
information about you then he will write or better yet call you. My mother 
and I got together in Feb. 1989 and it has been great ever since. Good Luck
