A completely non-partisan thought for the day. Rights once freely given and taken for granted are notoriously difficult to regain once relinquished October 17th was one such a day. On October 17th, 2006 The Military Commission Act of 2006 was passed into law thus rendering the United State Constitution and rule of law superfluous in one fell swoop. What has been done here is remarkable for the lack of response by the American people for whom the "any person" clause eliminates any kind of legal access to legal remedy, recourse or jury trial at the executive office of the Presidency whim. Boldly we go backward into the past of pre-Magna Carta law. This is not a Democrat issue. This is not a Republican issue. This is a unitary executive ( dictator) issue and an extremely *radical* move IMO. ... I don't recall voting Elmer Fudd for President. --- MultiMail/Linux v0.47* Origin: Try Our Web Based QWK: DOCSPLACE.ORG (1:123/140) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 123/140 500 379/1 633/267 |
