This is a stage that you can get into if you are using short strokes with pressure on the edges of the tool. The cure for this is to insure that it looks like there is enough material at the edge that you don't get a TDE and do a 1/3 length stroke with little weight on the glass. One hand in front of the other and both hands weighted evenly as you do the stroking.
