ja> I think that's the key. The music industry shot themselves in the
ja> foot by inflating their prices. Also, I have downloaded a lot of
ja> music that I used to have on vinyl. I have actually paid for it once
ja> or twice already but the industry keeps changing the medium
ja> (progress) and I am forced to catch up. I used to get an album and
ja> record it on cassette to keep the original copy in pristeen condition
ja> so as not to play the original. Now cassette recorder is dead and it
ja> doesn't make sense to do this as the car has a CD player. I just burn
ja> the CDs with the songs I want.

The regular price of CD's at music stores seems to be between $17.99 and
19.99 these days. It's easier to just go to Circuit City where I think
there average price is around $13.99. Best Buy's seem to be around $14.99
and Target has good prices too, but I don't know their average price. It's
good to get a CD the week it comes out because of sales. I think my CD's
from The Darkness, Fear Factory, and Killswitch Engage were all $7.99 if I
remember correctly. The Darkness CD had already been out, though, but I
came close to getting it and I'm glad I waited, because it went even
cheaper. :) I think it was probably only $4 difference, but it's like what
if you get it, then find it cheaper. You might get annoyed. :)
You're right about the changing. I hope they keep making tape players, so
if I no longer have a working tape player, then I'm stuck with tapes I
can't play.
I don't know if it's just me, but using a walkman doesn't seem to last long
if you play it frequently. :) I guess the same can be said with tapes and
wear and tear.

Is there any talk of another format coming out? I think there was
something that came out 10 years or so ago, but I only saw a limited amount
of. I don't know if it was a mini disc (not the recordable kind) or if it
was something else. I hope not seeing that I've collected a lot of music.
They should just stick with CD's. :)
