DC> Thanks! It's NOT the file size you have to worry about (with Blue Wave/DOS v2.30) it's the total number of message areas and the total number of messages per area that the reader can handle. The Blue Wave Offline Mail Reader, Version 2.30 HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS Section 4.2 Requirements for Blue Wave/DOS Because of the limitations of DOS (the operating system), the mail reader is constrained to the limit of 640K of base memory. This means that, even though you may have 8 megabytes of memory in your computer, DOS programs will only 'see' the first 640K. This puts a limit on the number of message areas and the number of messages per area that the reader can handle. BlueWave doesn't load ALL of the messages into RAM at once, but does load an index of them all. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
