Hello Jim:
=> How was the trip to Dayton? Very hot here (35C+) and only a little rain
Dayton was excellent. Aviation overload, as usual! I have spent
literally *hundreds* of hours' time in that marvelous Museum, and I
always come away from each visit having learned something. This was the
13th year I have attended the festivities on the same July weekend.
As is always the case, the days there are long (self imposed, of
course) but most enjoyable nevertheless. We arrived at the airport for
the airshow at 0730, and immediately began the long walk through the
static machines. The Piedmont DC-3 was not there: :-( I do not
know if she had a conflicting engagement or not.
I knew the MATS Connie would not be there; she had another airshow
booked for the day. BTW, I received a very nice letter from the
Skipper on the Connie after my ride in her.
There's nothing like the thunder of the Wrights going into METO
power with the windows open!!! :-) I'll die a happy man. :-)
