Mission
The mission of the Unit is to promote the development of generic
technologies and engineering practices to support the efficient production,
deployment and exploitation of high quality software systems and software
embedded in goods and services.


Objectives

-The implementation of policy and programme actions in the IST
programme in the field of technologies and engineering for software,
systems and services.
-Focusing on architecture-driven research and developments, component
technologies and development of tools and environments.
-Fostering development and convergence on standards and
interoperability for value-added service creation.
-Fostering the deployment of Open Source software aiming at improving
competition and providing flexibility in the choice of software tools
