Hey Wilfred!

 WvV> Huh?

Exactly. No need for any kludge for agreement on that. ;-)

 WvV> I can't deduce your local time from it

If you had checked the date wrt the FTN msg header date you should have noticed
that my machine uses UTC as it's localtime which is the correct behavior for
any networked machine. Only the clock on the wall here is set to the local
time and doesn't network so it is only there for my personal usage. I often
miss setting it fowards/backwards an hour to account for dst/standard time
silliness which my computers could care less about.

Using coreutils' 'date' app the adjusted rfc-3339 formatted date becomes;

:r !date --rfc-3339=seconds --date="02 Oct 15  13:37:43"

2015-10-02 13:37:43+00:00

which makes it ideal for sorting purposes without having to succumb to shoddy
standards.

For adjusting your ftn date it would be (assuming an ill behaved network
machine);

:r !date --rfc-3339=seconds --date="02 Oct 15  15:18:00+02:00"

2015-10-02 13:18:00+00:00

Now we're on the same page although to be honest I never do the above given a
lack of proper standardization when it comes to datetime stamps in fidonet.

Life is good,
Maurice
