Ya just never know... :)

That works... :)

Oh, I trusted not... but at the moment, he's having to do all the
running I can't* do, with my broken ankle... also the cooking, shopping,
laundry, etc... :)

Still behind (only 10-11 days at the moment, so that IS progress), but,
in the meantime, I did ask the Wizard if he had any ideas, so, in case
it STILL isn't solved, here's what he said (transcribed from my jotted
notes when he was explaining things):
.You could use "chmod +w " on existing files; this is
.probably the safest to use. "ls -l" should show 'who owns it', and
.that should show that it is yours. Are you the only user? Another
.command, which only affects files created after it is used, is
."umask"; without any numbers after it, it tells what it is set to
.now; "umask 000" removes permissions (first 0 is usr, second is the
.group, third is everyone), "umask 003" doesn't open it to just
.everyone, if you aren't the only user; this command should be put in
.your script file at the beginning, perhaps ".login" in your login
.directory. If you are looking up things in a Linux manual, the key
.words are "file mode" and "permissions".

Now, don't go thinking that I'm the Linux guru anymore than I'm the DOS
guru... I really am* only a sorcerer's apprentice, who can spout things
one has told me, use the few magic spells I've been taught (and use
often enough not to lose them), and have learned not to do anything I'm
not POSITIVE I know how to reverse (learned the multiplying brooms
lesson well )... But I DO have a good wizard around that can do
lots... :)

Hope this helps... :)

... It works! Now, if only I could remember what I did.
