Well let's see..

The Yucca earthquake:

I was in my trailer asleep at Lynn's place.. the trailer was right next to
the side of the barn that CJ was in.. roughly 25 head on the place at the
time.. I awoke to the sound of the quake coming (first and only quake I've
ever heard).. the trailer bounced around like it was doing the watusi.. and
not a peep out of the horses until the very end when one horse finally
nickered and the dam broke.. they all chattered for awhile.. especially
during the aftershocks. I was really ticked off because the trailer moved
around do much during the aftershocks I couldn't get back to sleep.. and
there was a show that day and I only had about 3 hours of sleep.

Later in the day:

Was at the show in the office signing up when the Big Bear quake hit. Since
there's usually a lot of energy going on at a show.. a lot of the horses got
very high about it.. in fact I scratched CJ from the show becase I couldn't
get her settled down.

Both quakes were large ones.

The Northridge quake:

CJ was in a stall that had a wood barn and a large outside area. After the
shock she would not go back into the stall/barn for anything more then a
minute or to grab a bite of hay... this included standing out in the rain.

The sound of the wood creaking must have spooked her so bad that she wouldn't
stand in it. This also caused her a mild gas colic..

The rememdy was to move her across the street into a metal stall again.

The one and only quake where I was on her was a small one and she was high as
it was at the time.. so when it hit she blew up and started crow hoping.. I
couldn't figure it out until I heard about the quake afterwards (you don't
feel it on the horse when it's small).

                                       BK
