I did immeadetely dig out the manual for the MR/2 Offline Mail Reader, to
find that Nick Knight (the programmer), knew something about programming.

A list of variables is included in the manual, but not as comprehensive
as the one you included.

I may even try "On %a d/m/Y which is used in most european countries.
To my knowledge only Sweden and Denmark use yyyy-mm-dd.
