subject: DC Title `Blue Devil`

Hi, John.
DH> You shouldn't have much trouble (other than perhaps, actually
DH> finding a store which carries "Blue Devil" back-issues...)
DH> filling in the holes in that series. It's not like they're worth
DH> much.
JA> Good...'cause my copies aren't in the best condition. :) I thought
JA> it was a pretty decent series...not a bad story line either... :)
JA> I mean, if you're gonna start with the premise that demons DO
JA> exist, why not go ahead and have a stuntman meet one while wearing
JA> a demon costume? :)
I liked the series (and bought it rather often, although not
regularly) mainly because it was first-and-foremost... fun. It was a
light-hearted super-hero title... but perhaps not quite as silly as
something like "Major Bummer" is (and I mean "silly" in the best way
possible - that book is a true gem). It stayed within the DC
Universe (something I'm not sure "Major Bummer" does)... and
introduced a number of villains like Bolt & the demon, Niebrious (SP)
who still pop up from time-to-time. Heck, for a time, a number of
Barry Allen's rogues gallery made regular appearances in "Blue Devil".
JA> My only question was, how the heck can he, err... take care of
JA> certain physical needs in that suit? :)
I dunno about sex (if that's what you're referring to - perhaps
like Data on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Danny's suit was "fully
functional"...)... but I would imagine he'd have to have an put in
an outlet for bathroom breaks.
DH> Ironically, it'd be cheaper to pick up the entire "Blue Devil"
DH> series than to start collecting DC's "JLA" right now... One
DH> other DC "worth-nothing" series from the '80s that I'm trying to
DH> complete is "'Mazing Man"... and I'm having trouble tracking down
DH> #11 (not many stores carry it anymore).
JA> Heheheh...well, good luck to both of us! :)
     Definitely!...
Talk to you later.
David
