Hey Bob!

Ah! Right now neither do I as there seems to be changes afoot in that
regard. MSG format would be a healthy start for a FTN Perl module, and yes
it would be nice to have a module that could read/write MSG's. A good
example of what I mean is the ANSITerm module that returns ANSI code to the
color calls in a Perl script. That saves typing all the escape codes to
produce an ANSI file.

Where sommething like this would be handy for a sysop to have is it would
allow the production of QWK files from MSG formatted messages. A first
step to producing a QWK offline door using Perl, which as luck would have
it, most Linux users have Perl at their disposal. Who knows? It just
might get the other OS sysops ontrack to upgrading their systems to Perl.
That way we'd all have something in common and could facillitate the
production of nodelist "compilers" and other handy-dandy FidoNet
utilities.

Is that any clearer?

Life is good,
Maurice
