subject: 1997 RS catalog (Canada)

     Hello Roland,
GH>> That's too bad, but i think that RS just follow the governments
GH>> requirements in each countries for specific material (ie:
GH>> scanners,etc).
RS: Well, that's my point, there is no law in Canada that forbids
RS: cellular monitoring. So, why does RS block cellular in the
RS: scanners that it sells up there?
     Only Radio Snack knows...
I doubt that RS sell us a "true" canadian model. For me, they
only looks like an US model, nothing much different.
As for the cellular monitoring, you're right, nothing in Canada
forbid this...
GH>> ...my 2004 does not cover frequencies from 520 to 760 Mhz..
RS: True, not much use in having it.
But probably in great metro area it can be used for something
more..as Bill Cheek suggest, for bugs and the like.
GH>> ... none of them received the new 97 catalog yet.
RS: Funny, must be late.
They were, in fact, late as usual. Now we've got them..
