MR> Happy New Year!

Thanks! Even though I'm a tad late on the reply.
I had jury duty along with lots of family obligation, and other stuff to
do.

Cool. It's nice to know I impelled at least SOME traffic. :-P

MR> Cool! My picks would be a bit different from yours, but these are
MR>definitely some good choices. The Nirvana, Radiohead, Cranberries,
MR>and Toad the Wet Sprocket discs you listed are my favourites by each
MR>of those bands.

Those four you agree with are surely exceptional, to be sure.

MR> Let's see, ...jeez I can never pick just ten... It changes from
MR>day to day.

Same here.

I got a new (to me) Dave Matthews the other day and a used Eric Clapton
Unplugged and those are now my faves.

MR>And besides, I'm into all kinds of music, from jazz to
MR>classical to rock, plus some bluegrass, country, blues, etc.

I'm into rock mostly, but I dig jazz, classical, bluegrass, and blues.
Not a big country fan, save for the bluegrass side.

MR> Even picking just ten pop/rock albums is hard enough. If it came
MR>down to it tho', I guess I'd just have to close my eyes and grab ten
MR>off this list of twenty current faves (in chronological order):

MR> The Beatles - "A Hard Day's Night" (1964)
MR> The Beatles - "Abbey Road" (1969)
MR> The Guess Who - "So Long, Bannatyne" (1971)
MR> Ambrosia - "Ambrosia" (1975)
MR> The Who - "Who Are You" - (1978)
MR> Little Feat - "Waiting For Columbus" (live; 1978)
MR> Dire Straits - "Dire Straits" (1979)
MR> Elvis Costello - "Get Happy!!" (1981)
MR> Talk Talk - "It's My Life" (1984)
MR> Level 42 - "World Machine" (1985)
MR> David & David - "Boomtown" (1986)
MR> Amy Grant - "Lead Me On" - (1989)
MR> Jellyfish - "Bellybutton" (1990)
MR> Richard Thompson - "Watching the Dark" (compilation; 1993)
MR> The Grays - "Ro Sham Bo" (1994)
MR> Jason Falkner - "...presents, Author Unknown" (1996)
MR> Supergrass - "In It For the Money" (1997)
MR> Natalie Imbruglia - "Left of the Middle" (1998)
MR> The Dandy Warhols - "Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia" (2000)
MR> The Guess Who - "Runnin' Back Thru Canada (live; 2000)

Some I've never heard of, others I've heard of but never heard.
Of course I love the Beatles, the Guess Who, The Who, Little Feat, and
Elvis Costello.
