ST> Our "friends of the Library" has 3 BIG book sales a year. They have
ST> tens of thousands of books for each one. Next is October.
HF> Several of the local libraries have such sales, but they are such a
HF> madhouse I tend to avoid them. That's why I was so happy to find they
HF> had a full time store over in Wheaton.
That's a neat idea. Maybe they should do that here. The only problem I
have at the book sales, is that the owner of the big local used
bookstore is there grabbing books by the handful the second the doors
open.
HF> re: Killed in the Ratings by William Deandrea
ST> Nope. Never heard of him. I'm reading "A Monstrous Regiment of
ST> Women", the sequel to "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" which I LOVED.
ST> This one is much slower going, andf I have read almost 200 pages...
HF> Finished The Sea King's Daughter last night. It was a fast read. I
HF> wonder what I'll pick up next? ;)
I'm reading "Billingsgate Shoals" by Rick Boyer. (I think I have the
name right). It was our reading group's book this month, I didn't get it
done in time for the meeting. It has a LOT of details on boats and I'm
finding it slow. I think I'm going to read the store's advanced reading
copy of Diane Mott Davidson's new book next.
... I try to communicate with my husband but he never downloads his mail
