One question. Can you put code into OPUS to allow it to create a specific
OPUS drop file for the Outside section? For example, I'd like to see a line
in OPUS.CTL that tells OPUS to create an Opus 1.03 style drop file when
someone jumps out to the Outside section.
I have a whole bunch of games my users just LOVE which came from Daniel
Tobias (who used to put out the Big Blue Disk). The games are like a secret
word game, a numbers game, a poker game, etc. All these games generated and
used "points" which were all maintained by a master program he wrote called
SCOREKPR. One can go into any one of these games, play the game, win or lose
points, and when one exits the Outside, the points are updated in a master
file. My callers LOVE these games, and I have been after Mr. Tobias to
upgrade all of these so they could be used with a more modern drop file.
Daniel has never responded, except a year ago when he expressed major
surprise here in Meadow that people were still using his stuff. He pledged
the get me new archives of the programs (so I could at least have DOC files
on the games) and nothing ever showed up.
So: Since the games require a 1.03 style drop file, can OPUS be made to
generate that on it's own? Right now, I down-convert from a 1.73a drop file
to a 1.14, then down again to a 1.03. Even on a P90, these programs do a lot
of disk I/O and it's slow.
Anyhow, just a suggestion....
