Hi Steve,
First, congrats on your new amp/speaker combo. I too have never heard
of what they suggested for bi-amping. Let me take a while to digest it and
see what we come up with. But I too would be apt to trust their judgement and
suggestions. That was what happened when I was told to reverse the phase on
my mid/high end side of just one of my two speakers when one was in a corner
and couldn'r be moved. I still don't understand why it sounded so much
better. But it did. After that I believe if they suggested my sticking my
tongue in the 240 outlet I would end up trying it....at least once 8-)
Monster cable makes a good quality Y adapter that sells for about $20
for a pair of them through Audio Advisor. I bought a couple pair of them and
have been very happy with them. They are not "high-end" enhanced uranium
wrapped oxygen free kryptonite, or anything like that. But they are solid,
plated nicely, and get the job done without noticable critter introduction to
the signal. If you don't have the 1-800 for them, let me know. Be sure to ask
to be placed on their mailing list for catalogs!
I am green with envy about you new amp. I am still procrastinating,
but it is between the Legacy and the Sumo.
Cheers, John
