That's a fair comment!  ;-)

But usually my ProDOS-->DOS file copies are followed immediately
by a test of the program in the DOS environment, so I'd expect to
notice a 4KB clobber in the program!

Yes, that was the "improvement" in version 9, and over the
years my fingers have learned it quite well.  It will be an
adjustment to return to 8.3.

I could research it, but does anyone remember what the main
differences are between 9.1 and 8.3?
