Any claim that the holocost was propaganda must deal with certain
facts:
1. German policy towards the peoples to the East of it were extremely
harsh. Russian POWs and communist party officials were  killed in large
numbers and without mercy. No one disputes this. The vast majority of
Europes Jews lived in these countries. Nazi ideology always made it
clear that Jews were their No 1 racial enemy. Does anyone think that
Hitler would have treated them more gently than he treated  Russian
communists??

2. German officials on trial for their lives at Nurmberg came up with
many far fetched and bizaare sounding defenses for their actions. Many
claimed to be simply following orders. But none of them claimed that
the mass killings did not occur. It is hard to imagine why they would
not make this claim if it were the truth. They were obviously going to
hang if convicted. The honor of the cause they served would not be
enhanced by playing along. They made many other silly claims.
But none of them denied the basic facts of mass murder of the
racial enemies of the Reich  (ie, civilian men women, and children).
