I use a BBS which connects to the Internet and displays
Internet messages in the same manner as a Fidonet echo. You
select the Internet message area the same as you would a Fido
echo. And if you use an off-line reader, you've got the choice
of any which supports QWK.
All business? I subscribe to several lists on the
Internet which are strictly hobby-type lists and it seems to
me the content and participants are very similar to Fidonet
echoes. In fact, some of the former participants in Fido
echoes on the same topics have migrated to those lists.
I hardly ever see business-related material. Of course,
this is not access to the whole Internet, just Internet e-mail,
which is what I was looking for. And the same BBS carries a
number of Fido echoes which are also of interest.
