Gerald, there are two problems with your reply:
a) Had you read the file "Why_ARJ.doc", you would know that:
7) ARJ provides ARJ archive compatibility from revision 1.00 to
now. In other words, ARJ version 1.00 can extract the files
from an archive created by the current version of ARJ and
vice-versa.
Therefore, an earlier version of ARJ would make no difference, right???
b) Since when does a missing password result in "BAD CRC ERROR"
messages? Had you read "Errors.doc" from the original ARJ
archive, you would have know that:
CRC error
The file in the ARJ archive is damaged and has invalid data in it.
It is not possible to recover this file in an undamaged format.
If this error is encountered when ARJ initially starts up, this
indicates that the ARJ runfile is probably damaged.
Cheers, Hans
