I know growing systems well. Depending on their structure they lead into a
dead end sooner or later. I am sorry that i can not help you with your
need. But a good hint is to replace the non-standard addressing system, it
will push you deeper into the dead end only.

You want to use e-mail style addresses within your system. That is why i
did not understand, i would never had the idea to use e-mail style within
Fidonet.

The Fidonet "from:" field is normally set for the real username.
Not to [confuse? | mix up? | mistake?] with the e-mail style
"from:".

You are running a Fidonet Host and/or Hub. Ahh, next time i should check
the nodelist first. :-)

Ok. Sorry, i would not call that multi-user - because being part of a
network is multi-user in general, not worth to name it again.
"multi-user" is using one computer by different people with
direct access, like the linux login shell for example. Nodes and points are
connected with your system, but exchanging mail is no direct access.
