| subject: | Hayes Accura MODEMS |
-> On 05-02-97 RAY TAYLOR wrote to LEE SIMPKINS... -> -> RT> the PC modem. Where do you think the "Standard Hayes AT set" comes -> RT> from? Of course they're compat with everything. And if it isn't, the -> RT> the modem it wont connect too is a peice of junk. Hayes IS the -> RT> standard -> RT> of all modems. Hayes modems are the best to have. Plain and simple. -> -> -> Hmmmm do we forget that Hayes had to file for bankruptcy protection ?? -> They no doubt were the best.... but they are no longer in control of -> setting standards on the market... in fact US Robotics is very strong with -> their recent 3Com merger and they got the first release on X2 56K -> technology for modems. US Robotics is moving very aggresively to get 56K -> standards set with mostly their input and direction. It could be that US -> Robitics takes the lead and wins this round in the high tech trend setting -> race. -> -> ==> Shane <== -> -> (O.K. you got me.... I own a US Robotics Sportster 56K modem !) -> ___ -> * OFFLINE 1.56 -> --- Maximus/2 3.01 Yes I agree, USR are "top-of-the-line" modems. What I was saying is that Hayes DID set the standards in modems for a long time. And I STILL consider them very high quality. And anybody that argues that they're not, is a fool. Hayes DOES know what they are doing when it comes to modems, filing for bankrupcy or no. And another thing is that I have ALWAYS been partial to originals. Like Hayes for modems, IBM for computer systems (although I don't own an IBM, I built my computer from scratch), and so on. -Ray --- Platinum Xpress/Win/Wildcat5! v2.0 ----------------> * Origin: Modem Connections/2 - (613) 820-2594 - Nepean, Ont.
