If the guitar sounds alright in "real life," then you should be able to get
an acceptable sound recorded. You probably need to experiment with mic
choice or mic placement. Try a U87 about a foot to foot-and-a-half from the
junction of the neck and body. A Beyer M500 might be a good choice too. Each
guitar is different, and it might take a while to find the "right" mic and
the "right" placement.
