Well, some of us cannot easily change distros. Especially when
our systems are fully in use and have new programs added now and then.
Could you make a slackware .tgz package that would run on mine and the
other Slackware 8.0-8.1 slackware users systems? Hell! for a long time
I was stuck at slackware 3.9! When I was forced to leave a condemmed
building quickly, had to leave all old computers behind, No way to
move them. built this box in my new apartment. thats how I upgraded to
8.0. No old baggage to worry about.
Wonder if one could compile Maximus on Slackware 3.9? I know,
it aint got pthreads... but could it be done? Might give it a try. I
keep a slackware 3.9 system around for testing purposes.
liked 3.9. still do. I DID take my old tapes with me. but
have not found a QIC-150 drive to read them on. Recorded on a Wangtek
5150es QIC-150 drive. Got some work on them I wanted to finish too.
Haven't found a inexpensive source for the drives yet. Still
looking. QIC-150/250 tapes awsome for backup. I need to restore the
two I have! Anyone?
