-=> Quoting JEAN PARROT to CHARLES JENNINGS, [05 Jul 05 08:41:00] <=-
JP> Hello Charles, I wish you a nice day!
CJ> You probably know the other user also; Bat Lang. He is a BW user
CJ> from a way back.
JP> Yes, I rememeber Bat. He helped me too. Kent anderson now,
JP> does not ring a bell. Maybe he was not "spread out" like Bat
JP> was.
I hope Kent doesn't see this or he'll never let me hear the end of it.
{^; He's tall and thin, while I'm, as you say, "spread out". {^;
As CJ indicated, he still 'haunts' our origin. Kent and I started out in
Fido about the same time '88-89, from the same Origin: Lone Star here in
Austin. We went thru 5 Sysops together, counting our current one, Mike
Tripp. As each one moved or left Fido, we were always referred to our
next Sysop. After our first move, when the Lone Star Sysop moved to
Boston, we were referred to the ECS bbs, and that's where we met CJ,
altho CJ had already been in Fido for sometime, as the Ass't Sysop of
another Austin bbs. Been 'travelin' together ever since. Much of the
'glue' that keeps us together came from the ECS sysop, Mark Evans, who
initiated a series of 'evening outings' for 'active' users to foster
better Sysop-user relations. We meet quarterly at a restaurant for
libations and dinner. Kent was the 'arranger' for about a decade, then
passed the torch to yours truly upon his 'promotion' to vapor-sysop.
Good Modeming! /\oo/\
