Hey Vince!
VC> what is the point of this post?
I give up. What is the point of this post?
VC> we all get updates for our distro via the "normal" source for
VC> the distro!
Who is this "all" you speak for? It definetly doesn't include me since I often
get updates from poking around ftp sites just like mom used to do. However the
gawk update I stumbled across when searching for a potential patch for a
completely different source which is another way I occasionally stumble across
updates for software I wasn't even searching updates for. What can be said?
Stuff happens?
However now that you bring it up, I've noticed recently that the normal
channels for updates appear to be as dead as this echo is, which is probably
the point of the 'Guy Robot' post of the output of 'gawk --version', as well as
to test some Fidonet compatibility which might not be obvious to the untrained
eye.
Life is good,
Maurice
... Don't cry for me I have vi.
